How to work with
Lakeland Interior Design
What is
Lakeland Interior Design?
Lakeland Interior Design is a full-service interior design studio specializing in residential interior design. It is headed by Dawn Dana, Principal Designer, who has nearly a decade experience working in a high-end design firm in the Twin Cities. She left her role as a Senior Designer to branch out on her own in the Northwoods in 2021. Dawn offers design concepts, space planning, color selections, furnishings, window treatments, flooring and accessories. She combines fresh and exciting designs with exceptional client service to ensure your ultimate satisfaction.
I've never worked with an interior designer before, why do I need one?
A great interior designer can transform your initial idea into a smart, stylish design concept. They also work collaboratively with your construction team to ensure your project stays on budget and on schedule to bring your project to completion with minimal stress and outstanding results.
An interior designer also has access to a breadth of fresh and creative products that cannot be found in a typical retail setting. Your new spaces will have a cohesive look that transitions beautifully from room to room.
What do I need to know about your
initial consultation? Is there a fee?
The initial consultation is complimentary. Once I have an overview of your project and understand the scope, I can develop a customized estimate for your project(s). Initial consultations can happen in your home, or in the case of a new build, in the designer’s office. No fees will be incurred until a budget is agreed upon and a contract is signed.

Lakeland Interior Design accept?
Can I start with only one room?
Lakeland is happy to assist you with any type of project, large or small. Whether you are decorating your first home, redesigning or building your second home or starting with one room, I will help you conceptualize, visualize and realize your dream.
We are thinking about remodeling our house. When should we call an Interior Designer?
If you’re thinking of remodeling or building a new home, it’s best to call as soon as possible. A designer’s knowledge and experience can be highly useful in your decision-making process. From finishes to plumbing options, lighting and furniture, a designer can help you avoid costly mistakes and unnecessary expenditures. This can save you money and time by ensuring the right choices are made to realize your vision, and by eliminating errors along the way.
